Ecological Landscaping

Hi I’m Drew. I have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Philosophy from UW Stevens Point and a Masters Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Edgewood College. I earned two Permaculture Design Certificates, one through The Madison Area Permaculture Guild (of which I am an active member) and one through The Permaculture Research Institute (Geoff Lawton). In addition to these PDCs, I’m also a certified PDC teacher. I am the lead organizer of the Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence which I started in 2014. And I also offer a wide variety of ecological landscape design and installation services through my business, Full Circle Designs LLC.

Holistic Site Evaluation

Our journey begins with a deep understanding of your vision. I'll sit down with you to discuss your goals and objectives for the property. From there, we'll embark on a comprehensive survey of your landscape and its unique natural features. I provide valuable insights and recommendations, considering the intricate interplay between land, water, and vegetation. I also discuss various options and provide transparent cost estimates for implementation, ensuring that you have a clear roadmap for your project.

Site Design

With the knowledge gained during the evaluation phase, I delve into the heart of site design. My approach integrates the shape of your land, the flow of water, soil quality, and vegetation into a cohesive plan. The result? A working blueprint that not only enhances the natural beauty of your property but also acts as a responsive plan for water control, fire prevention, flood resistance, and drought resilience. Beyond sustainability, my designs aim to foster a harmonious relationship between you and your environment.

Site Construction

Once the design is perfected, I take charge of bringing your vision to life. My site construction services cover the entire project management process, from layout and siting to earthworks, road and access development, planting, and soil amendments. I ensure every element of your project aligns with our sustainable ethos, creating a landscape that not only meets your needs but also thrives for generations to come.

Water Management

In an era where extreme weather systems are becoming the norm, effective water management is essential. My water management services involve a combination of earthworks, soil-building techniques, and irrigation systems. I'll identify sources of water on your property, discuss your water needs, and explore ways to use harvested water efficiently. My goal is to provide a comprehensive plan to control water, whether it's in short supply or dealing with runoff from rainfall, ensuring your property remains resilient.

Living Swimming Pools

These modern hybrids of ecological modeling and traditional pools create a unique swimming experience while maintaining a healthy ecosystem balance. Say goodbye to saltwater and chemicals; instead, embrace plant life and aeration pumps to keep your pool pristine. From concept and design to installation, I can turn your dream of a living swimming pool, complete with wildlife and pond features, into a stunning reality.

From concept to completion, I'll design and implement solutions that align with your vision, making your urban space a green haven for both you and the planet.
